On May 6th 2009, The Head Of Steam Ltd took over REFORM PLACE pub at 3 Reform Place, North Road, Durham, DH1 4RZ. It has now been re-named THE HEAD OF STEAM.

We are really excited about this! It's going to be THE BEST pub in Durham!!

The pub is in the centre of Durham, yet hard to find if you don't know where to look! It is in the middle of North Road, one of the major shopping streets, where the bus station is. It is opposite 'Walkabout' - under a ginnel and up Reform Place lane.

The pub is beautifully done out, but lots of things are happening to turn it into a successful venture - we have had to have a new electricity supply put in so everything can be switched on at the same time! We have built an extension to the cellar so we have room to stock real ales. We have dramatically increased the range of drinks we sell - see 'drinks' page - and have introduced a great menu - see 'food' page.

In development is a pub garden which will have a range of children's play equipment.

We are very family-oriented and have lots of activities for kids to do - even a fim club!

We're very modern - we have free Wi Fi!

Parking is limited nearby, so you can get a FREE TAXI - just ring Freedom Private Hire on 0191 3757409 - from anywhere - and present your receipt at the bar within 10 minutes of arriving; spend just 4 times the taxi fare in the pub and WE'LL REFUND YOUR TAXI FARE!!
